The Technology for Developing Tomorrow’s EVs
The technology that launched AV’s EV business remains a leader in Power Cycling and Test Systems (formerly called Electric Vehicle Test Systems). Since the 1990s, AV has supplied EV and electric system test equipment to customers around the globe and in numerous industries. AV’s power cycling and test systems have been used to develop, test and integrate fuel cell and hybrid energy systems for a variety of applications.
AV’s power cycling and test systems are a leader in grid-tied, DC power processing equipment for myriad testing and development activities associated with advanced power and alternative energy storage systems. AV’s power cycling and test systems are the standard for EV and Hybrid test procedures and have the flexibility to implement virtually any electrical driving cycle. Customers include the world’s leading automotive, battery, defense contractors, and fuel cell companies, universities, utilities, government agencies and laboratories. AV’s power cycling and test systems have earned a reputation for reliability, ease of use and longevity, helping our customers to conceive and develop the next generation of clean vehicles.
AV’s line of DC test systems has the flexibility to implement virtually any test. With a full power range (+/-5kW to +/-250kW) of bi-directional DC equipment, AV’s power cycling and test systems can handle virtually any DC supply or load requirement - from lead acid to the latest Li-ion batteries to fuel cells with integrated power electronics. Plus, these systems can emulate any drivetrain component, enabling the testing of individual components or partial drivetrains accurately and realistically, allowing true hardware-in-the-loop testing. AV also offers flexible software control options - via the C language Remote Operation System (ROS), Windows-based languages such as LabVIEW or CAN.
