Electronic Technician, 09-037

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Test and troubleshoot electronic and control systems for UAV’s and MAV’s.
- Test and debug control hardware and software on test stand.
- Create detailed electrical and control schematics especially PCB and avionics and writes assembly and test procedures.
- Write test plans and test reports, and conduct acceptance test procedures (ATP’s).
- Field testing is required, so some travel will be necessary.
- Works from written procedures and drawings as well as direct communication from engineering staff to fabricate electronic assemblies for small UAVs, including avionics, payloads, etc.
Required Qualifications & Background
- Requires Associate Science Degree in Electrical/Electronics acquired at a Community College or DeVry type school or equivalent relevant experience in R&D environment.
- Experience with detailed electrical and control schematics especially PCB layout software especially avionics.
- The Electronic Technician will possess 3+ years experience in an aircraft manufacturing or Aerospace
- firm and may include Lead experience.
- Should have experience with prototype design and development of electronic systems- including avionics and/or controls.
- Experience with CAD type design systems for creating schematics and/or hardware a major plus.
- Familiarity with electronics including hands-on experience with analog and digital hardware.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Computer competency in word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic design tools preferred.
- Experience with UAV’s a major plus.
- Prior soldering certifications would be helpful.
- Should be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and objects of varying sizes for shipment to test sites and to customers.
- Should have strong analytical skills with which to solve various degrees of complex problems.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, written, diagram, blueprint or sketches.
